Our integrated teams of Architects, Urban Designers, Planners, Interior Designers and Surveyors are working in partnership with Local Education Authorities, governing bodies and privately financed consortia.
With an established track record of achieving planning permission on brownfield sites and green belt land, we have up to the minute in-house knowledge of Government Planning Policy, enabling us to maximise opportunities for our education clients.
Our experience extends from Early Years' provision through to Further and Higher Education and includes the delivery of new schools, colleges and complex re-modelling and extension projects, often identified following a Masterplanning exercise.
Pellings is one of the original Academies Consultants, appointed to the DfES Framework in 2004, which has enabled us to provide assistance to Local Authorities bidding for wave funding under The Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme.

Pellings were appointed as Architects to extend an existing Victorian school to provide additional classroom space to accommodate a further 1FE and to upgrade associated facilities.
The existing Victorian school is located on a site bordered by busy roads to two sides and a railway line to the rear. The building footprint is C shaped and the existing couryard has been filled in over time to provide dining hall and administration facilities. The site provides hard landscaping to all sides of the building.
A new three storey classroom block has been sited to the front of the existing building to enclose the original courtyard space and address the busiest of the two roads. The new block is a cross-laminated timber structure commprising solid timber floor and roof decks, shear walls, glulam beams and columns.
